The service had risk assessments in place that were regularly reviewed and identified known risks. People were not deprived of their liberty unlawfully. The registered manager and staff had sufficient knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and their responsibilities within the legal framework. People’s consent to care and treatment was obtained prior to care being delivered.
We just had our mother there for a short term stay, the newly renovated unit was amazing, staff was kind and caring and always willing to help with whatever we needed. The food when it was good was really good according to my mother but she did have 1 or 2 items she didn't like. Physical therapy took amazing care of her and got her home in better shape than what she was in before she went to the hospital. I was very upset when I went to visit my grandmother and learning that she was placed on the wrong floor. She was temporarily stationed on the rehabilitation floor.

The so call doctor's are not caring and do not return phone calls like they should. You have family memberswho are concerned about their parents and expect a phone call back. Will I refer anyone to this business I don't think so. – the service is performing well and meeting our expectations. We spent time observing how people were looked after in the main lounge, and also observed lunch.
The home cares for elderly including people with learning disabilities. Additionally, the residency is able to support people with dementia and physical disabilities. There was a range of quality assurance systems in place to identify, assess and monitor the quality of service provided.

He did not need assisted living, but the facility and everything seemed really nice. They have only one floor for the mentally ill, and that was kind of depressing. This is because my brother is not used to seeing mentally ill people all the time. He has never had to stay in a place like that for a long period of time. Everything was nice except that the floor he would be sleeping in would be difficult because there were so many of them. However, if they would have accepted my brother, I would have put him there.
Care designed to provide quality support and comfort for people living with life-limiting conditions. My sister is in the physical rehabilitation part of Amsterdam Nursing Home. We're very comfortable with them as far as we're concerned that it's well managed and well maintained. They seem to be attentive that my sister is comfortable with the care and they seem responsive. Every meal isn't the same, most are good, and some are disappointing.

Accommodation, meals, and assistance with personal care and medication. Not enough staff but the staff who care really work over and above. They've overworked and need assistance...smh They take way to long to answer the floor phone which is disturbing.
We spoke with eight people who used the service, six staff members and five relatives. People received care and support from sufficient numbers of suitable staff to meet their needs. The service had robust procedures in place to ensure suitable staff were employed.
Even after his death they still called or wrote to us. – there are some services which we can’t rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider. Suspended ratings are being reviewed by us and will be published soon.
The service has two units, one with 27 beds which provides nursing care to older people and the other with 25 beds which provides intermediate care and rehabilitation. There were 52 people living at the home when we visited. This unannounced inspection took place on 21 December 2018.
People were supported to access health care services to ensure their health was monitored and maintained. Brymore House Care Home with Nursing provides care, treatment and accommodation for up to 53 people. The service has two units, one with 31 beds which provides nursing care to older people and the other with 22 beds which provides intermediate care and rehabilitation. There was a registered manager in post who demonstrated an understanding of the service and provided leadership to staff.
